Coronary Artery Disease is the most common type of heart disease.

It is also the leading cause of death worldwide.

CAD occurs when the cells lining the arteries are damaged from plaque accumulating on the vessel walls. This buildup of plaque hardens and narrows the arteries (a condition called atherosclerosis), restricting blood flow and increasing the strain on your heart. The end result may be a heart attack.

At Desert Cardiology, we're dedicated to fighting coronary artery disease through expert diagnosis, treatment, and prevention.  Our approach is to establish a well-coordinated plan that includes a close partnership among you, our patients, and your health care team, family, and friends.

We provide many services, including:

  • Evaluation and treatment of hypertension, palpitations, shortness of breath and all cardiac related evaluation.

  • Full suite of cardiac stress testing (exercise treadmill, nuclear, PET) on-site to further evaluate your symptoms.

  • Full ultrasound lab on-site to perform echocardiogram, carotid and abdominal ultrasound testing.

  • Full vascular lab and evaluation on-site for peripheral vascular disorders, including arterial blockages and venous insufficiency. We also offer full services for treatment of medically related varicose veins (see below).

  • Our sleep lab (St. Rose Sleep Center) is on-site and provides full evaluation and treatment options.

  • We offer full arrhythmia evaluation including short term Holter monitors, long term cardiac monitors, and implantable monitors (loop recorders). Also have on-site evaluation of pacemakers from St. Jude, Medtronic, Abbott, Biotronik.

  • Minimally invasive treatment of abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAA), aortic valve replacement (TAVR), and other structural heart disease.

  • We also perform peripheral and coronary angiography, angioplasty, cardiac and peripheral stent placement. Dr. Narala is renown for accepting complex/high risk patients that are sometimes considered too risky for traditional surgical interventions.

  • Full use of state-of-the-art technologies in cardiac/vascular interventions, such as laser/rotational atherectomy/intravascular ultrasound/Shockwave lithotripsy/directional atherectomy.

In addition, we offer free Wellness Program seminars every quarter for our patients, for discussions on health optimization and disease prevention, and a chance to ask the doctors and local experts all of your questions!
